Pure Tone Presentation
Pure tones can be presented by both air and bone conduction. AD19 also provides outputs which, when used in conjunction with external amplifiers, allow Free Field presentation of both pure tones and speech.
Masking
AD19 automatically presents the appropriate masking noise to the appropriate ear as required Narrow Band Noise for pure tone & Speech Noise or White Noise for Mic or Tape inputs. The "Sync" function provides auto-tracking between the stimulus and masking levels.
Speech Audiometry
Either live voice, using an external microphone, or recorded speech from a tape or CD, can be used for speech audiometry. The AD19B is also equipped with both Talk-forward and Talk-back facilities via the built-in Electret microphone and internal loud-speaker.
Auto Threshold
The AD19B incorporates a facility for performing threshold determination automatically. The test procedure is based on the Hughson-Westlake (HW) method (up 5dB, down 10 dB) and confirms to ISO 8253. The test frequencies & factors are programmable in setup mode
Store Function
This function allows the storage of a patient's audiometric data in an internal memory as results are obtained. You can view these results by pressing Shift-Mem, delete them by Shift-Del and clear them by Shift-New. At the same time a printable color audiogram will be drawn on your computer's screen while you store points.
Liquid Crystal Display
The supper twist back-lit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) serves as a visual communication link between the audiometer and its operator. The (LCD) provides continuous monitoring of oscillator & attenuator status, masking mode and masking level and selected input-output as well as a numerical read out of thresholds obtained using manual store or Automatic Test Program in 2x20 characters lines, also functions as a display for signal presentation and patient response.
Microprocessor Control
All functions of AD19 are controlled by a CMOS microcontroller which ensures easy adaption to future innovations or improvement of software and Online computer interface. Also provides low power consumption & small size.
